Aleksi Salmenperä(b.1973)is one of the most acclaimed Finnish filmmakers. His films have premiered in major film festivals such as Berlinale, Toronto, Cannes and San Sebastian. His works include films such as The Mine (2016), Distractions, (2015), A Bad Family (2009). His latest film Void (2018) was awarded with four Finnish National Film Award, including Best Film and Best Direction. "The only responsible way for me to work is to make films about life. As I see it,” the director says about his work.

Eveliina’s (16) life is turned upside down when she catches her mother passionately kissing a woman. Like all teenagers, Eveliina longs for freedom of thought and action – but not when it comes to her own parents. The girl grows up in a liberal family, where her father always has plenty of benevolent advice for his daughter, but fails to see that his own marriage is in jeopardy. Eveliina decides to put a stop to her mother’s affair and persuade her parents to fall in love again and stay together.
