On the threshold of adulthood, young Krabat becomes an apprentice to a mysterious sorcerer and falls under the spell of dark forces. Gradually, he comes to understand their danger and the price he may have to pay. This poetic retelling of an old legend explores the inner struggle between good and evil, and the power of will and love to set a person free.
