Traces of Tomáš Baťa

The exhibition Traces of Tomáš Baťa was created on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Tomáš Baťa. It does not focus on a chronological retelling of history, but rather on a thematic reconstruction of the key principles associated with the Baťa system—personal responsibility, decentralization, education, cooperation, social policy, and international expansion. Baťa’s enterprise is presented here as a comprehensive model that connects economic efficiency with public responsibility and the development of the city and society. The concept was developed by Gabriela Končitíková, director of the Tomáš Baťa Foundation, while the visual design was created by Jaromír 99, whose comic-style approach translates historical experience into a contemporary visual language. Intended for a wide audience, the exhibition raises the question of what kind of imprint Baťa’s principles can leave in the present day.
