The documentary follows Russian teacher Pavel “Pasha” Talankin, who, after the invasion of Ukraine, comes under pressure from an education system demanding propaganda. Once an enthusiastic teacher, he becomes a witness to a shifting everyday reality, which he decides to secretly document and reveal to the world. This intimate and chilling portrait shows how war and ideology permeate education and the lives of ordinary people.
