The exhibition Ivo Hejcman – Image, Movement, Story presents the work of a prominent Czech artist, animator, director, and educator associated with the Zlín film scene. It introduces his work from initial drawing concepts to final animated films and reveals a process that usually remains hidden from viewers. The exhibition features not only samples of his animated work, including well-known projects such as Bob and Bobek on the Road and Berta and Ufo, but also storyboards, working sketches, and individual stages of motion creation. It demonstrates how a simple drawing gradually evolves into an image in time and a narrated story. In addition to his film work, the exhibition also presents Hejcman’s independent drawings and watercolors, showcasing his confident line, sense of simplification, and ability to capture a character with just a few strokes. The exhibition offers insight into animation not only as a final result, but above all as a process — a transformation of image into movement and story.
