SEMINAR PROGRAM:

I. Block 8:30–10:30
Basics of Audiovisual Creation on Mobile, Mgr. Šimon Kříž, Ph.D.
Are you interested in creating a film trick or animation directly on your phone? This workshop offers an intensive introduction to contemporary mobile audiovisual creation, from the basic principles of animation to working with image, rhythm, and sound. We will start with a short cut-out animation and smoothly move on to animating objects and even the human body through object animation and pixilation, including the use of simple film tricks. All work is carried out using a mobile phone (please bring your own) and the freely available app Stop Motion Studio.

Šimon Kříž is an artist, educator, and curator. He graduated from the Secondary School of Art and Design in Brno and subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Art Education and Visual Creation at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University, where he completed his Ph.D. in 2024. In both his teaching and artistic work, he focuses on audiovisual media, film, and the integration of traditional and digital media. He works with performance, painting, video, and mixed media. In 2025, he exhibited in a group show at the Szaber Gallery in Kraków. He is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Art and Creation at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University. As a curator, he collaborates with the OFF/FORMAT and Sibiř galleries and is also a co-organizer of Brno Art Week.

II. Block 11:00–13:00
Image in Motion, MgA. Lucie Hlavicová, Ph.D.
What do paintings in galleries and videos on YouTube have in common? How can we reflect the audiovisual content that surrounds children in the classroom and transform it into a creative space? This model lesson offers quick and practical ideas for connecting visual arts and audiovisual education in line with the revised national curriculum (RVP). Workshop primarily intended for lower secondary school teachers.

Lucie Hlavicová studied classical animation at Tomas Bata University in Zlín and audiovisual creation and theatre at the Theatre Faculty of Janáček Academy of Performing Arts, where she now works as a lecturer in the Theatre and Education Studio. She has been systematically engaged in film and audiovisual education since 2012. As a lecturer, she leads workshops focused on film, multimedia, and animation and collaborates with organizations such as Studio Scala, Free Cinema, and CinEd. She works across all levels of education and contributes to teaching at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, FAMU, and ZŠ Heuréka in Brno. She is a co-author of the publications Methodology of Film and Audiovisual Education: Journey into the World of Moving Images and Filmouka. From 2023 to 2025, she served as Chair of the Association for Film and Audiovisual Education.

The seminar will be followed by the international conference Kino za školou 2026: Film and Other Artistic Disciplines in School, which will take place on June 3, 2026, from 14:00 to 18:00 at the University Library U13 in Zlín. The conference will focus on the role of film and audiovisual education within the national curriculum (RVP ZV) and on possibilities for interdisciplinary connections within the field of Arts and Culture. It will offer expert presentations from the Czech Republic and abroad, examples of good practice, and a final discussion. Participation in both the conference and the seminar is free upon registration. You may register separately for the conference and the seminar. The program is open to teachers, cultural educators, professionals, and other interested participants—regardless of prior experience. Upon request, participants can receive a certificate of attendance. This can be requested directly in the registration form. The program is financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the State Audiovisual Fund and is part of the professional program ZLINFEST PRO of the 66th Zlín Film Festival.
