What does domestic violence look like through the eyes of a child? And what really happens once someone becomes aware of the abuse? The aim of this round-table discussion is to highlight the impact of domestic violence on children and the family system, while also clearly demonstrating how multidisciplinary and interdepartmental cooperation works in practice when addressing such situations. Through specific anonymised case studies, the discussion will present the entire process — from the first warning signs observed in a child, through the involvement of the Intervention Centre, the Police of the Czech Republic, child protection authorities, and ultimately the justice system. The event follows the nationwide commemoration of 20 years of intervention centres operating in the Czech Republic. Special attention will be given to the Intervention Centre of the Zlín Region, the only institution of its kind in the region. The round table is designed to be professionally grounded while remaining accessible and understandable to the wider public.
