Joy of Creating

The international art competition for children and youth with visual impairments, Joy of Creating, has been an integral part of the accompanying program of the Zlín Film Festival for 28 years. It offers a unique insight into the world of children’s imagination, which knows no boundaries—not even visual ones. The project is organized in collaboration between the Zlín Film Festival and the Special Education Center at the Children’s Home, Kindergarten, Primary School and Practical School in Zlín. It showcases the work of children who, despite visual impairments, are able to create powerful, original, and often strikingly expressive artworks. Their creations open up a different way of perceiving the world—sensitive, playful, and deeply imaginative.
