Digital games are part of the everyday lives of the vast majority of children and adolescents. Yet in educational settings, they often remain an untapped resource—or a source of concern. This expert program, intended for teachers and educational professionals, aims to change that. Through lectures and hands-on workshops, participants will gain practical guidance on which types of games are suitable for teaching, how to use them effectively, and how to meaningfully integrate games as a method into the instruction of various subjects and age groups. Attention will be given not only to digital games, but also to game mechanics in general—the principles that can be used to foster motivation, collaboration, and critical thinking in the classroom.
