Jindřich Polák (1925–2003) byl scenárista a režisér. Klasik žánru českého sci-fi i dětského filmu. Debutoval celovečerním westernem Smrt v sedle (1958), jeho další tvorba zahrnuje sci-fi Ikarie XB 1 (1963), válečné drama Nebeští jezdci (1968) či krimi Smrt stopařek (1979). U dětských diváků získal přízeň především TV seriály a filmy Pan Tau (1969–1978), Návštěvníci (1983), Lucie, postrach ulice (1980, 1984), ...a zase ta Lucie! (1984) nebo Chobotnice z II. patra (1986).

What happens when Mr. Tau takes a stroll on a plane’s wing and meets a little elephant named Bimbo? The elegant man in a bowler hat causes panic among passengers flying to Prague. Is it a hallucination, a trick, or a coded message about a hijacking? Only young Alenka knows he’s the magician Mr. Tau. After landing, an investigation begins. Though Mr. Tau remains hidden, he loses his magical bowler hat – stolen by Bimbo, waiting at the airport for transport to a safari park. Many adventures follow before he can get it back.
