Directed by internationally acclaimed Mads Matthiesen, whose debut feature „Teddy Bear“ won the „Best Director – World Dramatic Arts Award“ at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012, the series tells the story of a group of young people who rise up to defend their right to be different. REBELS is a fictional series inspired by real events surrounding the demolition of the Youth House in Copenhagen in 2007.

Iben and her boyfriend Alex are homeless, finding shelter in a rundown Youth House. When the government decides to sell it to a religious group and evict the residents, they choose to fight back. Iben believes in battling the system through peaceful means, but Alex has no intention of playing nice – joining a radical group ready to defend the house by any means necessary.
