In the final days of the German occupation, a group of children rescues a downed French pilot in the Krkonoše Mountains. Like a game of "telephone," they secretly pass the wounded man from one village to another. But danger looms – occupying soldiers, traitors, and brutal winter conditions threaten their mission. The children must outsmart their enemies and survive the harsh journey to a hospital several kilometers away, where they hope to find safe help for Pierre.
