Tuni (12) loves pastel colors, beaded bracelets, fish balls in white sauce – and most of all, her lively dog Salto, who barks nonstop and bursts with energy. But Tuni’s world isn't all childhood joys. In September 2021, her older brother died by suicide, and soon after, her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Overwhelmed, Tuni retreats inward – until Salto enters her life. He becomes her closest friend, her comfort, and her four-legged therapist, even sleeping by her side. Director Nora Nivedita Tvedt brings tenderness, humor, and deep empathy to this story. Using imaginative elements like talking animals, she gently explores childhood grief and trauma with a light but emotionally rich touch. This is a film about pain, courage, love, and friendship – and the healing power of animals during life’s darkest moments.
