Yun Simkyoung (1981, Republic of Korea) Selected Filmography: Bom's Home (2022), Sua’s Home (2025)
Yeong-seon (15) loves tennis but moves through life alone, bouncing between foster homes and shelters. To earn money, she becomes a practice partner for Sua, a girl her age from a wealthy family. When Yeong-seon moves in with Sua’s parents, their world feels like everything she’s ever dreamed of – home, safety, and belonging. She tries hard to please not only Sua, but her parents too, hoping to become part of their family. But Sua, starved for her own parents’ attention, begins to see Yeong-seon as a threat. In her debut feature, director Yun Simkyoung brings depth and empathy to this tender story of a girl who refuses to accept a life of isolation. Choi Myeongbin shines as Yeong-seon, capturing her silent longing, quiet strength, and deep need for love with remarkable subtlety. This moving portrait of hope, identity, and the fragile bonds we seek reminds us that even the loneliest hearts still dream of home.
