Honey (13) is trying to find herself amid the chaos of daily life. She dreams of joining the school band – and maybe getting closer to her crush, Liam. But life is messy. Her mom runs a food stall to support the family. Her older sister Mikala has Down syndrome and needs constant care. Her dad lives in a garden shed and grows weed. When Honey finds out her grumpy, music-obsessed grandfather Marcel is still alive and in a retirement home, she sets out to find him – hoping he will help her chase her dreams. Despite his resistance, a bond forms. This touching, funny, and energetic film is about growing up, music, courage, and standing up for yourself and those you love. It shows – with humor and heart – that even in the middle of chaos, harmony can grow if you dare to listen not only to others, but to yourself.
