Jan Saska (*1987, Prague) is a Czech animation director and comics author. He has graduated from Classical Animation Studies at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín and from Animation at Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). After premiering at la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at Cannes in May 2016 his graduation film Happy End has been screened on numerous film festivals worldwide and received more than twenty-five awards. The film, a black comedy about death, was shortlisted for the 2017 Oscars in the Animation Short category. In 2012, with two of his long-time collaborators and friends, Jan founded True Lovers, an artistic group dedicated to comics and animation. Jan's latest project – Hurikán – is a short comedy based on Jan's comic character Hurikán.
Hurikán falls for Bára at the beer stand. When the keg runs dry, he sets off to get a new one – a tough mission in Žižkov, where hangovers are the local vibe.
