One February morning, Niki (12) and his family arrive at the Kharkiv metro station to seek refuge from the terrifying war. For Niki's family, daylight is synonymous with deadly danger. The boy cannot leave the confines of the station, where he lives among hundreds under the constant glow of neon lights. Niki wanders through abandoned train cars and platforms, and when he meets Vika, a new world opens before him. The children bond and together find the courage to once again feel the rays of the sun on their faces.
