Born in Bilbao in 1963, Pablo Berger's background is in music videos and advertising. He made his film debut in 1988 with the short Mamá. The prizes he won enabled him to obtain a scholarship in 1990, and to take a Master's degree in film direction at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. While in the U.S., he directed the Emmy-nominated short Truth and Beauty. He gives courses in New York, Princeton, Yale and Cambridge, before returning to Spain. Pablo Berger at the premiere of his film Abracadabra in Lyon in 2018. He made his first feature film in 2003, Torremolinos 73, which evokes the puritanical atmosphere of the late Franco years, and was a great success at numerous international festivals. His second film, Blancanieves, shot in black and white and silent, would not arrive until eight years later. His work earned him ten Goya awards in 2013, including Best Film1. In 2017, Abracadabra was released.

Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot – a companion. Their friendship blossoms until they become inseparable – to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again?
