Atta Hemwadee is a Thai film director working primarily in music videos, narrative commercials and short films, specializing in teenage romance, comedy and music genre. He also works as his own editor and screenwriter on some of his projects. He was also the former bassist of the band, Two Million Thanks. After graduating from the faculty of architecture, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, he started his career working with famed novelist and independent filmmaker, Prabda Yoon. Later, he started making videos for a magazine company which caught the attention of Thitipong Kerdtongtawee, one of the founders of production studio, Hello Filmmaker, who signed him to an agency where he began his career directing music videos and narrative commercials. His breakthrough came in 2019 with the music video, Mai-Ru-Tham-Mai by Whal&Dolph, which garnered 13 million views on Youtube. He made his feature directorial debut in 2023 with the film, Not Friends, also based on his own screenplay.
Pae isn’t doing too well at his new high school. His only chance to go to university and avoid working at his father’s flour mill arrives in the form of a short film contest. Betting on the sentimental potential of a story about his recently deceased classmate Joe, Pae embarks on a short film project with his schoolmates amidst much hype and hope. But the group’s best laid plans go awry when a close friend of Joe’s returns to school after an illness.
