Born in 1985, Davide Gentile is an Italian director and producer. He has made commercials for important national and international brands, including Vodafone, FIAT, Carrefour, Sky, Decathlon, Gillette, Durex. In 2016, he made the short film "Food For Thought", a denunciation thriller about the consumption of junk food in modern society, with which he won several important international awards, including, the Young Director Award (YDA) for Best Short Film at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2016, an event where he had already presented the previous year the short film "Music Is My Language", made for the BOSE brand and winner of the Silver Award for Best Young Director. "Food for Thought" also received the award for Best Young Italian Author in the "I Love GAI" competition held as part of the 2016 Venice Film Festival, was awarded Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Photography and Best Sound Design at the 2016 Rome Creative Contest and won the award for Best Cinematography and the "Audience's Choice" award at the 2016 New York 30Under30 Film Festival. In 2017, he made the short film "Omar" with which was selected again at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. "My summer with the shark" is his first feature film, produced by Goon Films, Lucky Red, Ideacinema with Rai Cinema, in collaboration with Prime Video.

School is out and 13-year-old Walter has just lost his father. As he wanders seemingly aimlessly along the Roman coast, a fascinating and mysterious place captures his attention: an abandoned villa with a gigantic, murky swimming pool. But the villa is not unattended and an unforgettable journey begins for him.
