Sharon von Wietersheim was born in Fort Stewart, Georgia (USA). At the age of three, she moved to Germany with her family.
Sharon began her career as assistant director for Kurt Meisel at the Residenztheater in Munich. She worked on successful productions, including productions by legendary director Ingmar Bergmann.
After graduating from the Acting School in Munich and the Lee Strasberg Studio in New York, she worked as an actress in numerous German theater, film and television productions.
Sharon von Wietersheim moved behind the camera in the early 90s. She wrote first screenplays and produced her first short film The Necklace, which received a national film award nomination. Further screenplays and directorial work followed. Through years of collaboration with major German production companies and television stations, she has developed and produced more than 30 cinema and television films.

It´s summer and the Immenhof sisters - Lou, Charly, and Emmie - are looking forward to a relaxing time with their horses. There´s one catch - the Immenhofs are bankrupt. What's more, they also have problems with the mean owner of the neighboring stud farm and his horse trainer Runa. Runa can´t control their new star racehorse, Cagliostro, and she blames Lou for the horse's difficult behavior. Lou only sees one way out: she agrees to a risky deal in which she not only puts her favorite mare Holly on the line, but also risks the future of their entire stables.
